Thinking of You

I know I have been quite around here for the last week or so, but I have been busy with some projects for work, and I have been preparing for an activity with the 8 to 12 year old girls at church.  We did a fun Mother's Day craft that turned out great!  Anyway, I decided to participate in the most recent KWerner color challenge.  I've actually done a card with similar colors that you can see here.  I love this color combo and had tons of fun working on it.

Here is a snapshot of the challenge colors:

For this card I used several shapes that I cut out using my Slice.  I have been using my Slice a ton lately and I can't wait for some of the new design cards to come out!  I also did a little "sugaring" on the heart on this card.  I simple brushed on a thin layer of glue and then dipped it in some crystal dust.  Kind of fun.

This weekend I am going to the Scrapbook Expo in San Diego and I am super excited!  I hope to come back with lots of inspiration and a few new items to create more stuff!

Supplies:  Love Elsie - embossed cardstock; Sassafrass Lass - patterned paper; Me and My Big Ideas - patterned paper; Bazzill - cardstock; Foray - ribbon; Making Memories - button, floss;  Versa - ink; Melissa Frances - stamp.

While You Were Out

Last night was Card Swap.  For some reason I had the hardest time making a card!  Jim says it's because I waited until the last minute...and he's right.  I ended up making this "Miss You" card using a Maya Road Stamp that is awesome!  Funny thing...every other month for Card Swap we make only 1 card and draw a name.  For the last YEAR Jaimie has drawn my name!  So weird!  She must be destined to have my card. :)

Here is a short video of the creation of the card.  Hope you like it!

Supplies:  Bazzill - scalloped edge; My Mind'e Eye- patterned paper; Maya Road - stamp; K & Company - brad; Making Memories - rubons; Prima - flowers.

Birthday Wishes & Life Is...

I made a few cards yesterday on my day off...oh how I love those!  Here is what I ended up with:

Life Is...
This card can be a thinking of you card or a birthday card. I love the little quote stamp.  I got it at Michaels a while back from their $1.00 scrapbooking bin.

Supplies:  Bazzill - gold cardstock; SEI - patterned paper; K & Company - pearls; Prima - flowers; Michaels - stamp and lace.

Birthday Wishes
This card was inspired by a layout I found in a past issue of Cards Magazine.  Jim said he was disappointed in me for not creating an original layout...and he's probably right...but sometimes you just need a little creative push. :-)  That's what those magazines are for, right?

Supplies: Bazzil - Brown Cardstock; The Paper Company - floral paper; My Mind's Eye - polka dot paper & gingham paper; Michael's Value Products - lace ribbon & stamp; Prima - flower; Making Memories - brad; Pink Pineapple - tule flower.
