Diaper Cake

So, this is my first attempt at making a diaper cake. I am bringing this as gift for a baby shower this evening. The process isn't hard, but it is kind of long.

You start by rolling up diapers and securing them with rubber bands. You then tie them around a bottle of lotion, or a baby bottle and build up. After you have completed the "cake" you can decorate with Ribbon, flowers, stuffed animals...or anything you want.

I think it turned out really cute!

Baby Girl

I wanted to share a card that I made today.  This was so fun to make, and all of the supplies are so cute that I couldn't resist them.  The base of the card is actually part of a mini chipboard album by Bare Elements.  I just used two of the piece and tied them together for a cute, shaped card.

Supplies:  Bare Elements - card base; K & Company - patterned paper; Melissa Frances - glitter heart, rubon; Scrapbook Nook - ribbon, button.

Baby

I wanted to share a little baby card I made this morning.  This was created using some Cosmo Cricket papers...I love that they always have a sheet of words and saying that can be cut out that coordinate with their papers.  The "Baby" is exactly that on this card.  Such fun colors and patterns!

Supplies:  Bazzill - cardstock; Cosmo Cricket - patterned paper; Foray - ribbon; Michaels - bling; Fiskars - edge punch.

Rock-a-bye-baby

I know that I haven't posted much in the last little while, but life has been a crazy!  The holidays were super busy, and to top it all off - Jim and I are moving to Long Beach, CA in about a week an a half.  The move is happening very fast!  Jim has accepted a position at a facility in Norwalk, and we were fortunate to find a little house to rent in Long Beach very quickly.  I have been boxing up the house in preparation for the move, and I have no idea where anything is.  As a matter of fact, I photographed this card with my iPhone, ha ha!  I haven't participated in a color challenge for a while now, and I know that I probably we won't have another chance to create in the next few weeks, so I wanted to give one last post before my move.  I promise I'll be back with more to share after I unpack my crafting supplies up in Long Beach!  Wish me luck!

Here are the colors from K Werner's color inspiration this week.

And here is my little card:

Supplies:  Bazzill - cardstock; Basic Grey - patterned paper, rubons, chipboard stickers; Melissa Frances - lace.

Little One

I made this card last week, but didn't get around to editing the video to go along with it until today, so I am just posting it now.  I used Apple Blossom stamps to create the pattern on the base of the card, then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

supplies:  bazzill - cardstock; Heidi Grace - patterned paper; Love Elsie - cardstock; JoAnns - ribbon, embossing powder;  Versa Mark - ink; Apple Blossom - stamp; Making Memories - rubon.

Bundle of Little Boy

This is the card I made for my most recent card swap.  Our challenge was to create a baby card with buttons on it.  Mine only has one button...but I think it still counts :-).  As I was thinking about what to do for my card I was inspired by some of the beautiful quilts my mother in law makes.  Why not quilt with paper?  I originally made one completely with paper, but then I saw a card using felt and I thought - felt will make the perfect baby blanket card!  So - this is how it turned out.

Supplies: Bazzill - cardstock; American Crafts - patterned paper, chipboard letters; Love Elsie - fabric paper; JoAnns - thread, button; Offray - ribbon; Kolett Hall - stamp; The Kunnin Group - felt.

Baby

I tried to upload this Baby card last night with the acrylic album, but blogger was freaking out...so I am posting it this morning before I run off to work.  This card is simple and sweet.  I have had these baby clothes pins for almost 3 years and I have never used them until now!  I don't even remember who makes them.  Making Baby cards is probably one of the funnest cards to make...they are always so cute and there are always lots of supplies available!

Supplies: American Crafts - vinyl letters; Making Memories - ribbon; Bazzill - cardstock; K & Company - patterned paper; clothes pins - unknown.

Baby Announcement

A friend that I go to church with asked me to help her create a baby announcement for their new arrival.  Amy had an idea of what she wanted and gave me a few guidelines for the creation.   She emailed me some pictures that Dana took of her adorable baby...and the end product turned out super cute!

A Few Altered Products

Altered Picture Frame for baby Cora

A couple that we go to church with just had their first child.  They had a get together to celebrate the baby yesterday, but I couldn't go because I had to work.   I was able to make this altered picture frame for their new baby, and will give it to them at church.  I hope they like it.

Altered Bucket for Mother's Day

I made this little bucket for Jim's mom as a small Mother's Day present.  I was inspired to make it by a few buckets that my friend Button has created.  Button has such vision when it comes to all things creative!  Her work is always original and so so cute!  This is my version of an altered bucket.  I put a few things inside like quilting pins and thread (Jim's mom loves to quilt).
