Happy Birthday Jim!

Today I want to share a birthday card I made for my husband.  Today is his birthday and we are off to Palm Springs for the weekend to celebrate!  I wanted to make the card masculine, but still use bright colors...how did I do?

I used one of the new Apple Blossom Studio stamps in this card.  These stamps are very versatile and can be used as journaling tags, or just decorative accents.

Supplies:  Bazzill - cardstock; Making Memories - patterned paper, rubon, buttons; EK Success - latter stickers; Scrap within Reach - cardstock; Maya Road - stick pin; Foray - ribbon; Colorbox - ink; Martha Stewart - glitter; Apple Blossom Studio - stamp.

Happy Thanksgiving

I got this idea from Danielle Flanders, whose work I always admire.  She often uses parts of mini albums to create cute shaped cards.  Recently, I have fallen in love with this technique as well.  For this card I used lots and lots of Melissa Frances product!  So fun!  Be sure to check out the video tutorial at the bottom of this post :-)

Supplies:  Creative Imaginations - chipboard pumpkin, Melissa Frances - patterned paper, acrylic accent, rubon; Prima - flowers; Craft Supply - star, button, twine.

Debbie's Crocheted Dish Scrubbies

This isn't a papercrafting project, but it is a super fun and functional crocheted project that my mom taught me.  I was able to persuade her to let me video the creation of one of these little dish scrubbies.  The video is below.

Basically you need about 11 yards of tule or netting.  Cut the fabric length wise in 3 to 4 inch sections.  Roll your sections into balls and you'll be ready to crochet!  My mom, Debbie, will explain more in the video.  Hope you like it!

Thank You

I wanted to share a thank you card that I created for an on-line swap I was asked to join a while back.  I used lots of American Crafts papers for this card...the patterned paper is from their teen collection that is full of bright vibrant colors!

Check out my video below - I have changed the format of my videos a bit.  You Tube has begun muting videos that contain copyrighted music...so this video features me talking, ha ha!  I hope it isn't too boring.  Let me know what you think, and let me know if you have any ideas for my future videos.

Supplies:  Bazzill - cardstock; American Crafts - patterned paper, ribbon; Heidi Grace - stamp; Making Memories - paint, stick pin; Prima -flowers; Doodlebug - brads; EK Success - border punch, corner rounder.

Pick Your Own Pumpkin & World Card Making Day!

Hi Everyone!  I wanted to share a card that I made using the spooky card kit that I purchased over at Dream Designs.  The kit was so shabby and vintage!  I loved it!

Simple Hi

Hey everyone, I know it has been a while since my last post...but I've been out of town visiting family.  My little brother, Bradon, left on a 2 year mission for our church.  He will spend the next few months at the Missionary training center and then leave for New York, New York!  So exciting!

I finally was able to take a break on my lunch hour yesterday and make a card using my new Apple Blossom Studio stamps!  These stamps are really fun!  They aren't your typical cutesy stamps - they have a modern, classic feel and they are so easy to use!  They cling wonderfully and they stamp the image perfectly.  I have often experienced difficulty with certain acrylic stamps, but these are fabulous!  Here is what I came up with:

I also made a little video to go along with it, hope you like it! :-)

Supplies:  Bazzill - cardstock, floss; American Crafts - foam letters; October Afternoon - patterned paper; Dots N Dashes - ribbon; Apple Blossom Studio - stamp; Versa Mark - ink; JoAnns - embossing powder; Dream Designs - flowers; Making Memories - brads, buttons; Karen Foster - lacing brads.

Hey guys, here is a little card I made up using some super cute MME papers!  They kind of remind me of a circus or something.  I have been super busy lately and I feel like I haven't been able to sit down and create anything in a while...so I made this card on my lunch break today :-).  It was relaxing and if felt great to get back into my craft room.

Here is a video of the creation of the card, hope you like it! :-)

It's Good To Be Queen

So, I was finally able to come up with a card for Card Swap.  Our challenge this month was to create a card with a letter or monogram.  I decided on the letter Q...just to make it interesting.  I thought and thought about what word or phrase starts with Q...and I came up with Queen...it's good to be queen.

As a bonus, here is a video of the creation!  Enjoy!

Supplies:  Bazzill - cardstock, brads; Me and My Big Ideas - zebra print paper; Sassafrass Lass - patterned paper; JoAnns - ribbon; Dots n Dashes - ribbon; Martha Stewart - ribbon; Prima - flowers; Making Memories - brads.

While You Were Out

Last night was Card Swap.  For some reason I had the hardest time making a card!  Jim says it's because I waited until the last minute...and he's right.  I ended up making this "Miss You" card using a Maya Road Stamp that is awesome!  Funny thing...every other month for Card Swap we make only 1 card and draw a name.  For the last YEAR Jaimie has drawn my name!  So weird!  She must be destined to have my card. :)

Here is a short video of the creation of the card.  Hope you like it!

Supplies:  Bazzill - scalloped edge; My Mind'e Eye- patterned paper; Maya Road - stamp; K & Company - brad; Making Memories - rubons; Prima - flowers.

Windmills

We just got back from our Palm Spring mini vacation.  We had a great time relaxing by the pool and just having no plans.  The weather was scorching out there so it was a good thing that our resort had a pool and misters over the sitting areas.

On our way out to the desert we passed thousands of windmills!  I thought it was so interesting and unusual, but Jim thought they were no big deal.  Here is a quick visual of what they looked like.
